Description: Lord Alfred Tennyson original signature on a Bank Draft July 10, 1862. Hand written in ink on manuscript bank draft of a folded page (18x11.5cm folded), in his hand to his lawyer, Odling Osborne and Co, Clements Lane, London. Posted from Freshwater with 1 Penny stamp hand cancelled -July 18th 1862- and stamped PAID, across centre is written, -Pay M Jerennal Nerwood (or Merwood) or order eleven pounds- and at bottom left corner £11, crossed diagonally with two lines and written -and Co- in centre oval bank stamp of London and Westminister Bank Lothbury. Also stamp of National Provincial Bank of (illegible), signed A Tennyson, on back written in ink, Isu. Mist Merwood/his mark (with X beside), below -Witness (signed) J.F. Isaacson-. Another light bank stamp over signature, scattered light creasing and wrinkling, otherwise very good. With letter of authenticity of PSA/DNA Autograph Authentication Team, certificate of authenticity of RR Auction and biographical notes on Tennyson. Rare and unusual.    VG
