| Description: 1985 Johnston-Fraser paper specimen set of 12 notes, 2 Dollars to 100 Dollars. The late-discovered Type 4a, with standard serial numbered notes (likely from RBA archives) overprinted SPECIMEN on front of each. As presented in an unannotated RBA brown album such as was used for the TAA sets. See Coin and Banknote magazine article by Dr Kerry Rogers, Oct 2009. All serials from following or similar to those in the album as mentioned in the article, which came with a letter by B.W Fraser explaining the intent in the creation of these special albums, which were given to valued work colleagues. The similar set in the article was then for sale for $600,000. Some slight handling to notes. Excessively rare and highly desirable, with only one other known set. UNC |
